German Shepherds

Hawks Hunt's Laurentian Journey at Supreme MotionI looked for a long time to find my “Journey”.  I was looking for a female purebred German Shepherd not only with sound structure, but with a mind to match.  I also was looking with plans for future breeding.  After a long search, I chose Suzanne Clothier’s line of Hawks Hunt German Shepherds.

On June 10th, 2012 my dream came true when Hawks Hunt’s Laurentian Journey of Supreme Motion was whelped in New York. In August of 2012 I made the trip to Suzanne’s farm in St. Johnsville, New York to meet Journey and to visit with Suzanne and John. I also had the privilege of meeting many generations of the Hawks Hunt line at that time and I found every single one of them to be impressive.  Journey and I drove back to Minnesota and that’s when our Journey really began.

Journey has all of the strengths that I want in a working German Shepherd Dog. She has a strong physical presence and her sound structure gives her great balance and movement. Her mind is solid and she manifests biddability, intelligence, willingness, confidence and kindness in everything that she does. She is social with both people and animals and can turn on the drive when appropriate, yet be very relaxed in our home. Presently she and I are a search and rescue team in training. She helps me around my small farm as a drafting dog and as my backpacking, hiking and travel companion. To top it all off she is beautiful! She has current cardiac, eye, DM and thyroid Orthopedic Foundation for Animals clearances (http://www.offa.org/display.html?appnum=1616901#animal) and will be acquiring her hip and elbow clearances soon.

Journey was bred to Gideon Vom Wildhaus and a litter of 7 pups was whelped in September of 2015. The pups were placed in excellent homes and have had many accomplishments such as great companions, CGC, Obedience, Nose Work, Agility titles, Search and Rescue sertifications and Service dog certifications.

Currently Journey’s son Thor is available for breeding. We will live cover or shop for AI. We are also planning to breed Thor to a female in the future and our plan is to whelp and raise the litter in our home.
